Ondo senator weeps for endorsing under age girl marriage

The member representing Ondo Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Ayo Akinyelure, wept before members of his constituency in Akure on Monday as he apologised to them that he voted in error to support the senate resolution backing marriage of underage girls.
Akinyelure was summoned by his constituents to explain his role in the controversial passage of a resolution to retain the provision of Section 29 (4) (b) of the 1999 Constitution, which states that a married underage girl is deemed to be an adult.

Patience Jonathan who spoke at the Presidential Villa during a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa by 16 bishops from the South-South geopolitical zone said Gov. Amaechi is her son and he shouldn't let outsiders use him against his own blood.

Globacom has launched a innovative product tagged Phonelord which rewards its subscribers for housing Glo SIMs in their phones.
The company said from now on it would pay its subscribers rents for using their phones to provide shelter for their Glo SIMs just like tenants pay rents to landlords.
Launching the product in Lagos on Wednesday, July 10, Globacom’s Coordinator Marketing, Mr. Adeniyi Olukoya, said the company was the first telecoms network in Nigeria to reward subscribers for accommodating its SIM in their handsets. More...

Following the free-for-all that took place in the chambers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, the state Police Command has declared the Majority Leader, Mr. Chidi Lloyd, wanted.
Lloyd was on Wednesday declared wanted for his involvement in a case of conspiracy, attempted murder, wounding and willful damage on Monday last week.
Police Driver Knocks Down Woman And Her Baby While Speeding Against Traffic
A reckless police driver behind the wheels of a van attached to the FESTAC police station allegedly knocked down this woman and her little baby on the 23rd of June, 2013.
Causing her to suffer brain damages while her baby, Ammarah Anjolaiya, also suffered deep facial cuts and a broken jaw.
