Richard Griffiths has died at the age of 65, it was announced today.

The famed theatrical, television and film actor died yesterday after suffering complications related to heart surgery at the University Hospital of Coventry and Warwickshire.

He starred in Alan Bennett's play The History Boys and appeared in cult classic Withnail and I as the comic Uncle Monty, after getting his start with a small role in Richard Attenborough's Gandhi - but he found a new audience of fans as Vernon Dursley in the Harry Potter films.

Daniel Radcliffe, who played the title role in Harry Potter and also performed with Griffiths in the play Equus, led tributes to the actor, as Withnail star Richard E. Grant said: 'Chin chin dear friend.'....RIP!

Singer India Arie Accused Of Lightening Skin

The 37-year-old star is almost unrecognizable in the cover image from her new single "Cocoa Butter," which is causing a lot of backlash and many to believe that she has been lightening her skin. This is quite a shock considering the afro-centric R&B singer is known for promoting black beauty-- most notably expressed in her hit songs "Brown Skin" and "I Am Not My Hair."

Sources close to India told TMZ that her "lightened" skin tone is the result of the camera flash and angle. And added that the singer never asked to be lightened. Nevertheless, the celebrity website makes the valid point that India approved the photo without correcting the color of her skin.

Basketball Wives: Los Angeles star, Draya Michele was spotted days ago rocking and African print ensemble matched with a Gucci bag and nude Christian Louboutin pumps. She tweeted;

Residents of Ronke street in Ijeshatedo in Lagos have also received a letter from armed robbers informing them of their plan to raid the area soon!

Ronke streets residents said the letters were pasted on the gates of some buildings on the streets and it simply read: “We will pay you people a visit soon. Be prepared for us.”

The residents alerted the police in their area who told them not to panic and gave them a number to call if they suspect anything or anyone. 'Dead' prostitute wakes up and jumps out of coffin....hmmm!

A prostitute in Zimbabwe 'died' during a hotel romp with a client - only to come back to life as her body was being put in a coffin. The vice girl reportedly collapsed during a sex session last week at the Manor Hotel in Bulaweyo. Convinced she was dead, her shocked client called the police - who sent paramedics to collect the body.

But as they were loading the 'corpse' into a metal coffin, the hooker suddenly woke up screaming.

Local news reports claim she leaped from the casket, yelling: "You want to kill me, you want to kill me".

Terrified staff and guests at the hotel who had gathered to watch the scene unfold, fled in panic.

A source told Bulaweyo24 News: "It was like a movie. People were running away in different directions. It was a scary incident because we were all convinced that she had died because she was just cold. Miracles surely do happen."

The shaken hooker - known locally as MaNdlo - was escorted home by another prostitute.

Popular Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt sentenced to five years in prison

India's supreme court today ,Thursday March 21st has ordered the Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, the most high-profile of the 100 men and women who were convicted for the 1993 Mumbai serial bombings, to return to jail for a further three-and-a-half years for the illegal possession of firearms in a case connected to a series of bomb blasts that ripped through Mumbai and were one of the deadliest terror attacks in the country.

The bombings on 12 March 1993 were engineered by a silver smuggler and gangster, Mushtaq "Tiger" Memon, widely seen as revenge for the destruction of the Mughal-era Babri Masjid by Hindu fanatics three months earlier. But the real mastermind behind the attacks was said to be the Muslim underworld kingpin Dawood Ibrahim – in revenge for the attack on the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya by Hindu zealots, a hallowed Islamic site.

Mr. Dutt was sentenced to six years in prison in 2007 for illegal possession of weapons that were supplied to him by men subsequently convicted in the bombing. That court cleared Mr. Dutt of involvement with the bombing plot. He has denied involvement with the attacks and said he asked for the guns to protect his family.

He appealed the decision at the Supreme Court and was let out on bail in 2007. He has remained at liberty since then until today. The court reduced his sentence to five years but said the circumstances and nature of offense was so serious that Mr. Dutt cannot be released on probation. Mr. Dutt, 53 years old, already has spent a cumulative 18 months in jail on related charges.

Mr. Dutt will have to surrender within four weeks to serve the sentence, the court said.

Eccentric Kanye West wants to name his baby by Kim Kardashian, North West. The rapper, 35, came up with a list of potential names for the baby due in July, but North is at the top because he thinks it sounds good with his surname.

He sounded out pals about the moniker last month while working in Paris during fashion week. But the title is unlikely to go down well with girlfriend Kim, 32, whose family have a tradition of starting their first names with a K.

Kim k might also have a problem with her boyfriend’s next album title - I Am God.

Sheyman And Trybe Records Part Ways

Ademoye Oluseyi aka. Sheyman has parted ways with eLDee da Don and Trybe Records.

Sheyman is no longer with the label and his rep confirmed this news. ‘Sheyman is in a meeting now. He’s on his own now, doing his thing‘, said Sheyman’s PA Damilola.

The PA added that the producer now has his own production label called Phat Base Entertainment. Sheyman’s Twitter page corresponds with his PA’s story as his profile links to a website Phatbase.com which is currently under construction.

Trybe Records is yet to release an official statement on the split but Sheyman’s profile has been taken off the label’s official website. Sheyman who is also known for his sound engineering skills (he mixed and mastered Iyanya’s ‘Kukere‘).

Sheyman was with Trybe Records for a year and he released the hit song ‘Celebrate’ under that label, He was said to have been working on his third album ‘From Zero to Hero’.

Iyanya & “Kukere” Producer, D’Tunes Part Ways

I’m sure we’ve all heard “It’s D’Tunes again oh!” on every single one of the new Iyanya‘s smashing hit singles. From “Kukere’ to “Your Waist” and finally to “Flavour”, the prolific producer, D’Tunes and Triple MG label mate, Iyanya found a hit-making formula that boosted Iyanya back into the spotlight.

Sadly, though details are still sketchy as to why, the producer has allegedly left his label of 3 years to sojourn on his own and has in the process, started up his own record label – “Difference Entertainment”; of which he is already promoting his first artist, Sean Tizzle and the act’s two new singles, “Sho Lee” &“Boogie Down”

Nigerian women's rights advocate honored by Michelle Obama

Nigerian democracy activist and women's rights advocate Dr. Josephine Okei-Odumakin, was one of the 10 phenomenal women who were honored by US first lady, Michelle Obama and US Secretary of State, John Kerry, on Friday March 8th in the US.

Dr. Josephine, who is the president of Campaign for Democracy and President of Women Arise for Change Initiative, was presented with the Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award by John Kerry and Michelle Obama at a ceremony that held at the Dean Acheson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of State.

The annual Secretary of State’s International Women of Courage Award honors extra-ordinary women around the world who have done great work in advocating for human rights, women’s equality, and social progress.
