On Monday, June 3, Indian actress Jiah Khan allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself.
The actress' mother had gone for a stroll only to return and find their house door locked from inside. The door was then broken open and Jiah was found hanging.
Police reports say Jiah killed herself after she found out her boyfriend of nearly a year had a new love interest.
She got on the phone several times with him yesterday, and after their last call hanged herself.
Another reported possible cause of her death is that she was unhappy about her career in Bollywood as she was out of job for quite some time. At a recent audition she attended, Jiah had been asked to go home and lose weight.
Possible witnesses are being questioned at the moment. May her soul rest in perfect peace
the problem of 'suicide' is very much present in our country and specially the young ones. Everyone needs to be educated to help tackle this problem. Not just the kids but people like us should also know how to help them, whom to call for additional/professional help, how to respond to such help, how to take care and provide continuing support for someone who tried to commit suicide.
