Microsoft wanted to buy Facebook

There is a book named “The Facebook Effect”. In this book it is said that Microsoft tried many times to buy Facebook. The rumor was confirmed a few days ago by Fritz Lanman, Senior Director of Strategy and Acquisitions of Microsoft. In 2007, Microsoft wanted to buy Facebook for 15 billion dollars.
In the book it is also mentioned that Mark Zuckerberg refused the officer because he wanted to keep the control over the company, and this was impossible. ” I don’t want to sell the company unless I can keep control” said Mark.
Ballmer continued to try to buy the company but was unsuccessful. In the end, they invested 240 million dollars and now Microsoft and Facebook are working together on the search section of Facebook.
We also want to remind you that Facebook was evaluated, at the end of last month, at 50 billion dollars. Right now, the amount of 15 billion that was offered in 2007 by Microsoft seams very little.
